Girl Scout Emergency! Fun Run Water Station Sunday Morning

Hi everyone,

The Girl Scout Troop that usually handles our water bottle-handing-out stop at the Fun Run (in the Greendale Community Center Parking Lot on 76th St.) suddenly can't do it, so we need a couple people to hand water bottles to passing runners between 10:15-11:15 .

Will anyone be around to help out?

Girl Scouts: It's on!

Hi everyone!

Sounds like we can get some scouts for some science-ing, snack-ing, and service! 

We'll plan on our regular meeting time (3:00-5:00) in our usual room from last year.

If your scout can come after a different club, then that's A-ok.  We have a couple that'll come right away after school getting things started.  The rest know where to find us--just hurry so the best cookie decorating supplies are still in stock!

Girl Scouts: Anyone interested in a Service/Science/Snack meeting tomorrow?

Hi everyone,

Since we have the room reserved, and since I have cookie decorating stuff we were going to use at the last meeting, and have a couple cases of new snap circuits and remote-control-robot building kits I want to test out, and since the scouts could help make some banners for the Raffle Prizes for the Fun Run this weekend, we could still get the girls together tomorrow (Wednesday) if there are more than 1-2 interested.

If I hear from more than 1-2 scouts that would like to join in tonight, I'll send a confirmation or anti-confirmation email out before I go to bed tonight so you can have your scouts go to the meeting after school.

If girls want to come after other clubs, they're welcome to.  I know Evie has Math Team/Math Club after school until 4:00, so she'd come afterwards.

Girl Scouts: Ooops! One more thing--Nut Sale!

Hi everyone,

Make sure you get rolling on the Nut Sale.  The girls often have great ideas, and this is where the budget for THEIR meeting plans would come from.  For example, do we want to go to a Chocolate tasting/preparing event for a meeting? We could, if a girl has that idea!  It would be great to have the budget to cover it!

Or, as before, do they want to sock money away for more travel?  I wasn't kidding about Girl Scout travel opportunities!   When the girls are in High School they really could go stay at a Girl Scout owned and run chalet in the Swiss Alps!  Crazy!

Girl Scouts: Meeting Date Change + Idea from a Girl

Hi everyone,

1)  To try to make it easier for everyone else to fit things into their schedules, let's try WEDNESDAYS (2nd and third Wednesday each month) for our meetings instead of Thursdays.  The Office OKed the changes.  So that means this is our new meeting schedule:

10/11 (P) + 10/18 (M)  CANCELLED!

11/7 (P)  + 11/14 (M)

12/12 (P)  + 12/19 (M)

1/9 (P)  + 1/16 (M)

2/13 (P)  + 2/20 (M)

3/13 (P)  + 3/20(M)

4/10 (P)  + 4/17 (M)

5/8 (P)  + 5/15 (M)

 

(P) = Planning Meeting 3:00-4:30

(M) = Regular Meeting 3:00-5:00 (If we do Wednesdays, January and February might end early, we'll see when they get closer.)

Just like before though, if no one plans on the (P) dates, or no one is willing to lead on (M) dates, then there won't be a meeting.

2)  One of the girls suggested we check out the Milwaukee Wave Girl Scout Night again.  So, the date on that is:  Saturday January 26th.  It has the same options as in the past--Just go to the game, or go to the game and stay until Midnight watching a movie on the Jumbotron, or go to the game, and set up a tent to sleep overnight on the field and go home Sunday morning.  Everyone going gets a patch and Milwaukee Wave socks.  Please ask your girls if anyone is interesting in going, and should we do the campout again?

Girl Scouts: NO MEETING 10/!8

Hi everyone,

Looks like there won't be a meeting next week.  We only had one girl come to do planning, but while she was up for planning, she didn't want to take leadership at the meeting next week.  So, while she did put together a pretty decent plan, it sounds like there won't be a meeting next week. 

Better luck in November, I guess?

Reminder: Planning meeting TOMORROW (Thursday 10/11)

Hi everyone,

Just a reminder the girls' meeting-planning-meeting is tomorrow.  I'll bring the treats, and girls bring the ideas!

I know a LOT of the girls have a big cross country meet tomorrow, or Girls on the Run, so it's super  duper important for the girls that aren't in Cross Country or GotR to come to the planning meeting.  Remember--if no one plans the meeting, there won't be a meeting!  This is a great chance to be a leader.

Meet in room 149, right after school as usual, but plan to wrap up sooner--around 4:30 instead of the regular 5:00.  Our regular meeting 10/18 will go to our normal 5:00, unless the girls need to adjust that based on the plan they come up with!

Girl Scouts: MEdia Journey Session Bosses

Hi,

I've attached the sign up sheet for the girls who were there to pick sessions to run on our MEdia journey.  If your scout's name wasn't on the list, they can pick a session and work with a the other scout on the list as partners.

The sessions will run roughly by month, except 9-10 will probably roll together.

If your scout has a question about what a particular session entails, based on the title, let me know and I'll explain better!
