A quick add-on to before.  Our Service Area for Girl Scouts--that includes Girl Scouts from Greendale, Greenfield, and Hales Corners--is having a clean up challenge (actually suggested by one of our scouts!) and I think we could win!  Here are the details:

Announcing the Green Corners Clean Up Contest!

In our October Service Area meeting, one of the girl suggestions for a Green Corners event was a Clean Up Challenge.  Over the last month, troops across Green Corners voted and that was the winner, so I'm excited to announce the first ever Green Corners Clean Up Contest!

What:  Starting Monday November 23rd, Green Corners Girl Scouts who spend time cleaning up in the community can log their hours here:  https://forms.gle/hgSDgvKGhQ5iy4Vq8   On December 21st we'll add up all the hours and the troop with the highest per-girl clean up hours average will win $5 Girl Scout Resource Center Gift Cards for EVERY GIRL in the troop!  Those will be good for merchandise in the Girl Scout Resource Center, or for registering for Girl Scout events!  AND, every girl that participates in the clean up will get a "Community Clean Up" fun patch too!

When:  November 23rd - December 21st, 2020.

Why:  To make the world a better place, to get out and get some fresh air, to be a part of a great girl scout community, and to work together to make a difference!

Who:  All Green Corners Girl Scouts  (Even adults!)

Girl Scouts: Progress? Need help? Questions?

Hi again!

Just following up last meeting again to see how it's going with the tasks the girls assigned themselves, and an update/question about camping. 

First:  here were the jobs the girls volunteered for, are they coming along ok?

Jobs:

1)  Eva:  Contact Mrs. Fonte and Burish to see how they found people to help for Clean and Green

2)  Katie:  research local ice skating opportunities and see if they are open during COVID, and are taking appropriate COVID precautions.  (Starter list:  Eble, Wilson Park, Pettit, Pleasant Prairie RecPlex)

3)  Quinn:  Find some good front ine workers to write letters to.

4)  Evie/Ellen:  Will do more jobs around the campout as it approaches.

5)  EVERYONE:  Send any blackout dates that you will be UNAVAILABLE during January/February so we can schedule a campout when everyone can go.

Second:

The girls mentioned possibly going to one of the two scout campgrounds that were being closed and sold this year.  Those camps are being "Sundowned" in December, so if we wanted to hit one of them (Potawatomi Hills, and Winding River) it might have to be in the next couple weeks. 

Would a camp out at one of those two camps be possible for a reasonable number of girls the weekend of November 21-22 or 28-29? No commitment yet, just checking options.
