Girl Scouts: Meeting Link for Thanksgiving Meeting!

Hey scouts!

Here's the link for tomorrow's meeting, and what's on the agenda.  We're using Microsoft Teams, so we don't have the Zoom 40 minute limit.  I tested it with Evie, and it seemed to work great.  If it doesn't work we'll throw together Zoom meetings and just keep making new ones as the 40 minute timer runs out.

10 minutes to write a letter to nurses working during COVID times

10 minutes to write letters to Greendale Students that get quarantined that principals can deliver to them

If you girls have other ideas we can do them too!

Don't forget to do some community cleaning when you get a chance:

What:  Starting Monday November 23rd, Green Corners Girl Scouts who spend time cleaning up in the community can log their hours here:  https://forms.gle/hgSDgvKGhQ5iy4Vq8   

On December 21st we'll add up all the hours and the troop with the highest per-girl clean up hours average will win $5 Girl Scout Resource Center Gift Cards for EVERY GIRL in the troop!  Those will be good for merchandise in the Girl Scout Resource Center, or for registering for Girl Scout events!  AND, every girl that participates in the clean up will get a "Community Clean Up" fun patch too!

When:  November 23rd - December 21st, 2020.

Why:  To make the world a better place, to get out and get some fresh air, to be a part of a great girl scout community, and to work together to make a difference!

Who:  All Green Corners Girl Scouts  (Even adults!)

Where:  Wherever you think needs a good cleaning.  The beach? A park? Your school? Great!

Does anyone else have ideas?  I was thinking we could do an online thanksgiving game--Pictionary? Password? Kahoot?  We could share things we're thankful for.  We could take a short moment and connect on our ideas for future activities (clean up helping, supporting essential or healthcare workers, winter camping).  Does anyone else want to share a thanksgiving craft, or other activity that would be fun?  And are people planning on doing this on phones or on laptops/chromebooks?  If we're doing it on phones, we could even take a mini-field trip and log some time for the area Clean Up Challenge by heading outside and grabbing some litter around our houses.

What other ideas do you have?  Two days to share so we're all ready!

Girl Scouts: If you sold nuts/candy--I have them now!

Hi everyone!

If you sold nuts and candy, and have "Girl Delivered" stuff to pick up--I have them in hand now!  Email or call/text ( 414-595-6668 ) and we can arrange a pickup!

Also:  Anyone else for a Thanksgiving meeting on Wednesday? Any time limitations?  It's looking like Noon-1:30-ish is our target--will that work?

I'm thinking 1-2 girls could teach us how to cook something, we could do some Thanksgiving games, maybe some trivia (Kahoot anyone?) and just catch back up with each other.  Maybe we take a few minutes and write a thank you note to some essential workers, and if you drop them off at our house we can get them to the appropriate place.  You pick:  nurses? social workers? teachers? 

Who's in?  If you are--does morning/afternoon/evening matter, or could you be available anytime that day?

And if you're in and want to teach us how to cook something, reply-all with the recipe and the ingredients needed ASAP--the first 2 will be our chefs (maybe 3 if the first two have short/quick recipes) We'll all cook along with you together, but we need to know what ingredients to have ready!!

Happy Thanksgiving--and I'll tell you that I'm Thankful to be working with a great bunch of girls like you all!

Make sure to send your ingredient list to everyone so they can be ready on Wednesday. 

That's 2 chefs, but Evies is short and easy so we could probably do a third if someone wants to teach a fast and easy recipe. It's ok just to be learners though—no pressure!!!  And if there are lots of people that want to teach a recipe, we'll schedule another meeting like this, maybe for winter break, so you can all get chances!
