Girl Scouts: Campout Schedule and Packing List

Hello everyone!

First, if you're signed up for the campout this weekend, (   http://www.signupgenius.com/go/10c0a4fa5ad22a13-greendale3   ) here's what to bring:

Sunscreen
Bug spray
Bedding/pillows/sleeping gear (there are mattresses, but that's it!)
Change of clothes
Long pants/sweatshirt if it turns cold
Comfortable walking shoes
Something to tie your scout's hair back at the fire, if she has long hair
Rain/mud boots if it looks like the trails will be muddy
EMERGENCY CONTACT INFORMATION 

Second, here's the schedule, so you know when to arrive, or where to find us if you need to stop by and find your scout.

Friday
4:00-5:00  Arrive, stow gear, pick beds, etc.
            After checking in/getting set up:  Outside games/fun (Bocce Ball, Hula Hoops,
Bean Bag Toss, etc.)
5:00-7:00  Camp games/activities!
            Back to back guessing game
            Color swatch scavenger hunt
            Found object art
            Compass search
            Nature portraits.
            Sleeping animal game (not with real sleeping animals!)
7:00-8:00 Campfire dinner
            Friday night is stick-based—
                        Hot dogs/veggie dogs/sausages
                        Veggies (Sweet peppers, tomatoes, zuccini)
                        Apples/Pineapple
                        Marshmallows/S'mores
                        Sides (chips, salads)
                        Drinks (Juice, milk)
8:00-9:00 Nails/hair/karaoke
9:00-10:00 Firefly glowstick and flashlight hike & "Add-a-word/sentence storytelling"
10:00 Pajamas, get ready for bed, go to bed
 
Saturday:
7:30-8:30 UP and get ready for the day (Morning sing-along!)
8:30-10:00 Breakfast and Saturday-Sunday campers arrive.
10:00-11:00  First Aid Patch:  Outdoor Safety
            Learn about caring for and preventing: Sunburn, Poison Ivy/Oak, Bug bites, Bee
stings, etc.
11:00-12:00  First Aid Patch:  Craft
             First Aid Kit Necklaces
12:00-12:30  First Aid Patch:  Being Safe
            How can we be safe at home?
            How can we be safe when we play?
            Make a safety poster for home or school, inside or outside.
            Calling 9-1-1:  When should you call? (When NOT to call!) What should you
know?  What should you say?
12:30-2:00 Lunch Hike: 
            Take bag lunches (provided-no need to send your own), eat picnic-style when we
get somewhere appropriate.
            Take Bug BINGO sheet to see if you can get a bug BINGO!
2:00-3:00  Bug Patch:  Bug crafts
            Coffee filter/clothespin butterfly
            Butterfly feeder
3:00-3:30  Bug Patch:  Hula hoop population counts
Bug Patch:  Bug game--Moth and Bat
3:30-4:30  Bug Patch:  Exploring Bug houses
            Find bug homes (spiderweb, cocoon, anthill) compare and contrast the different
homes.                                     
4:30-6:00  Games/Activities (Selections of what was best liked from Friday night for the girls who arrived on Saturday)
6:00-7:00  Make Hobo Stoves/Cardboard Box Ovens/fire starters
7:00-8:00  Dinner
            Pizzas/Quesadillas on the Hobo Stoves
            Fruit cobbler and banana bread in the cardboard box ovens
            S'mores on the fire
8:00-9:00 Nails/Hair/Karaoke
9:00-10:00 Bug watching with lights
            Firefly glowstick and flashlight hike & "Add-a-word/sentence storytelling"
10:00   Pajamas, get ready for bed, go to bed
 
Sunday:
7:30-8:30 Wake up, start breakfast
8:30-10:00  Eat breakfast and clean up
10:00 Head home
