Girl Scouts: Raingutter Regatta Deadline Almost Here! (And Happy Thanksgiving!)

Hi!

I hope everyone's Thanksgiving was one to give thanks for!

First, I wanted to send a reminder about the Boy Scouts vs. Girl Scouts Raingutter Regatta on 12/11.  The deadline to let me know if your scout is coming is December 1st.  (The troop buying the boats for us is buying them on the 2nd, and will be getting them to me to get to you on the 3rd so you have a week to build them.)  This is a great opportunity for a dad-daughter project, and a great opportunity to show Highland View which scouts have the most hot air!  The only cost will be the boat kit which is $5.50.  You'll get the kit on the 3rd, but we'll collect the money on the 11th at the event.

Here's who I have signed up so far:
4th Grade
Adrhia F.
Aria K.

3rd Grade
Katie B.
Lia S.
Gretta H.
Makenzie S.
Kailee A.
Evie S.

One other (very) important announcement:

We'll be repeating one of our more meaningful events from last year, and have scheduled another visit to the Elizabeth Residence Nursing Home to spend time with the residents there.  Our visit will come after our Thursday 12/18 meeting--the nursing home is expecting us at 6:00; our meeting ends at 5:00.  There's room for 16 Scouts that day.  If more girls are interested in going than can fit that day we'll schedule a second visit too.  Here are the details:

Where: The Elizabeth Residence Nursing Home in Franklin (9329 S. 48th Street, Franklin WI 53132)

When: 12/18/2014  6:00-8:00 PM

What:  Visit the nursing home and do crafts, games, and spend time with the residents there.  Santa showed up last year, he may show up again this year...who knows?

You can sign up here, and please indicate whether you can stay and chaperone, and also if you can offer a ride if there are scouts that would need a carpool.  Thanks!
