Girl Scouts: Welcome back to a big January, important announcements!

Hello scout families!

I hope you're all finding ways to stay warm.

Just a few important announcements for January:

1)  Our meetings are January 21 and 22.  I'll get a sign up genius out so you can pick your meeting as usual.  

IMPORTANT FOR THIS MEETING:  Plan to arrive at the meeting 30 minutes before pick-up time so Ms. Kelly can get everyone up to speed on the cookie sale which is starting on the 23rd.  I'll be working with the scouts in the meeting room, but parents will meet with Ms. Kelly in the area outside the room.  (Or in a different room if I can get one reserved.)

IMPORTANT FOR EVERY MEETING:  Make sure if you're a Highland View family to mark which meeting your scout will attend in their agenda.  This helps the teachers, the students, and me make sure we get everyone where they're supposed to go.

In the event of confusion:  if a student misses the bus, or has no other place to go, we will keep them at the meeting and call whatever contact number we have for you to let you know where the scout is.  In this weather it's better to be sure the scout is indoors and warm, and not risk sending them out to a locked door or empty house.

2)  The Junior Photography Workshop at Discovery World will not be on 1/14.  Discovery World called today and said they're cancelling that day due to low enrollment.  We can reschedule--the next photography workshop we could do would be March 27th.  There were only 4 of our 4th grade scouts (this event is for 4th graders) signed up, so let me know if you just want a refund, or would be ok rescheduling for March.  Thanks!

3)  The Cookie Kick Off Party is the 21st!  So make sure to put that on the calendar.  It'll be a lot like last year, with games, songs, prizes, and lots of samples. 6-8PM in the Highland View gym.

4)  Walleye's Unlimited put the schedule up for their Free Ice Fishing Clinic for kids, another of our troop traditions.  I had it on our scout calendar as January 17/18 but the actual event turns out to be February 14th--I'll fix that on the calendar.  We'll do some free ice fishing (keep the fish you catch if you want to!) and then head somewhere warm for Hot Chocolate!
