Girl Scouts: March Meeting Major Changes

Hello scout families!

This month, there's a pretty major change to our meeting dates, and here's why:

I just got the amazing opportunity for a woman to come in and speak to us who recently returned from spending 2 years working with the Peace Corps in Paraguay.  Among the things she did in Paraguay were:

-Founded Estacion Abierta (Open Station) to promote national public spaces and transformed a 150-year-old train station into a site for regular cultural events

-Designed and implemented a youth workforce program that trained 16 youth as Estacio?n Abierta tour guides and provided leadership training and team building

-Served as national director of programming for the leadership initiative Jovenes por Paraguay and developed two national camps for over 120 youth, resulting in the creation of 12 new youth groups that completed 34 community service projects throughout Paraguay

-Co-founded the ImaginARTE youth creativity camp as a member and teacher of Ahecha, a national youth photography project

However, she can only come in on Thursday March 12th.  So, our Thursday meeting is moving to March 12th after school.  It'll either be in Mrs. Weber's room, or in the Spanish room--I have to get a look at sizes and space requirements, I'll know which by this evening and will update all the information accordingly and email the information to everyone too.

Our Wednesday meeting will remain as was, on March 18th, from after school until 5:00.

Please sign up for the meeting you can attend ASAP so I know who to expect where.  Any scout is welcome at either meeting day.

Thanks so much, this should be great!
