Hello everyone!
Just a reminder that the Village Days Parade is Sunday. Line up is at 11:00 (but feel free to show up 11:30-11:45 since the parade isn't scheduled to start until 12:00, and even then they always start late!)
Also, the cool waters event is Saturday. I'll send a couple of the flags for the parade with the Pavelchik family and with the Sarenac family so everyone can converge on those before the event (we should make quite a crowd!)
The event starts at 6:30 but if everyone (except me--sorry!) can be there a little early to get organized, that would be great. Last year they let groups in by troop, and if you weren't with your troop, you were out of luck.
Finally, our USUAL beach cleanup is Thursday August 13th at Bay View Beach (followed up by free Pizza at Classic Slice!) I'll be out of town, so I'd need someone to take attendance so I can get the right number of community service patches. Who can go?
I hate to sound like a broken record, but this is really a great opportunity for the girls to get a feel for community service. It's fun, it's easy, it's relaxing for parents, and it comes with free pizza afterwards. It's never to early to show the girls that it's rewarding to make the world a better place, and show them the value of responsibility and sharing. The beach cleanup details are here: http://www.bayviewneighborhood.org/clean-ups It's at bay View Beach, which is on Superior, just south of Oklahoma, across the street from the Marian Center. The cleanup generally runs from 6:30-8:00.
See you this (busy) weekend!
Aleks
