Girl Scouts: This email's for everyone! Scheduling for 2015-2016

Hello Everyone!

I'm working on putting the schedule together for this year.  Since our Troop actually grew again over the summer (Welcoming some new friends, and welcoming back to some returning friends too--Jayla and Kayla!) we're probably going to have to do some more creative scheduling for meetings this year.

First:  The big question...

To deal with the bigger numbers of scouts, and the bigger numbers of CP scouts, I'm thinking of adding a third meeting option each month, this one at College Park.  To do that though, I'd need to recruit a College Park parent to jump in and help sett up and get things started on College Park meeting days (since I'd still have a student of my own over at Highland View to pick up and bring over.)  I'd be able to drop materials off at CP, but would need someone to be there when school lets out to get the girls organized and under control.  If we do the CP meetings on Wednesdays, I'll have Kathleen to help too so we can make sure to have the required 2 parents in the room with the girls at all times.  (If we divide into 3 days, we should be able to keep it to around 15 or so scouts per meeting.)

As always, CP scouts would be welcome to go to HV based meetings instead if that was better for their schedules, and HV students could choose to go to the CP meeting if they liked.

But it all hinges on having that College Park parent step into a bigger role.  I think it would be a huge convenience and am sure you would get ALL the love from the other CP families whose lives you're helping make easier and easier.

Second:  The smaller question...

Before I put the schedule up on the website, and send it out, what ideas does everyone else have for events/activities for the girls to do?  We've outgrown some of our regular events (most of the Wehr Nature Center events, are probably too young for us) so I'm totally looking for ways to fill it out!

Thanks so much, and see you soon!
