Last call for me to get your scout registered for these events: (The list of scouts I have listed as attending is at the end of the email--if you want to go, check to make sure you're on it! Also, if you can help drive or chaperone, let me know. We'll definitely need drivers for some of these events already!)
1) STEM Fest at Discovery World 5:00-8:00 November 6th. Many STEM related activities, including make-your-own-salon products! (As well as many other topics from the environment, to water science, to robotics, and beyond!) $5 per scout, since we'll register for one of the two labs available. (Make your own sugar scrub, or up-cycle a flower vase.)
2) November 13 Junior Detectives Badge at Discovery World 6:00-8:00PM $12/Scout Discovery World Museum
A crime has been committed at Discovery World and we need your help to figure out who did it! Become a detective as you learn how to decode messages, identify fingerprints, and use microscopes to analyze hair samples left at the scene. Gather evidence from the crime scene and see if you can solve the mystery!
3) January 13 or 20 WI Humane Society Program 6:00-7:45PM $7/Scout, $4/adult
Wisconsin Humane Society Milwaukee Branch Go behind the scenes at the Humane Society of Wisconsin. Interact with cats and kittens, and make a cat toy to take home. Learn about dogs and dog training in "Dog Town!"
4) February 26-27 Playing the Past Overnight Event 6:30PM 2/26-9:00AM 2/27 $25/Scout, $10/Adult
Kenosha Civil War Museum Spend the night during the Civil War era! "Meet" women from the Civil War era, play games, make and eat food, and create jewelry. The overnight includes a living history event that the girls bring to life! An evening snack and Saturday morning breakfast are included.
5) April 17 Little House on the Prairie 1:00-4:00 PM
$16/Scout, $5/Adult Old World Wisconsin
We bring the Little House on the Prairie books to life! Experience life like Laura or Almanzo Wilder. Explore a log cabin like the one that Laura and her family lived in. Help make and taste butter and cornbread like Laura and Mary made. Make a craft from one of Laura's books and play games that Laura and Almanzo played.
FINALLY, The October 17th Halloween Legends and Lore event at Old World Wisconsin is coming up really quickly. I'll get the coupons for the discounted tickets. I know the girls that went liked it a lot last year! If your scout needs a ride, let me know and we can arrange carpools! Details: October 17 Old World Wisconsin Legends and Lore 5:30PM-9:00PM
Adults $10, children 5-17 $7, children 4 and under free (best enjoyed by children 8 and older). Admission Special: Visit any WaterStone Bank branch to get a $2 off per admission coupon.
