Hi,
Every year Girl Scout of Southeast Wisconsin has a board meeting and volunteer award ceremony. They always ask a local Girl Scout Troop to do the flag ceremony, and I just learned that this year we were chosen!
We would need 4-10 scouts to attend (food will be provided) April 24th, from 6:30-8:00. In addition to getting the chance to participate in the governance process for Girl Scouts, and learn more about the bigger picture of Girl Scouting in Wisconsin, the girls will have a chance to meet (and more importantly, get met BY) the board members and executives from GSWISE. In a couple years, our girls will have the opportunity to apply to be on the governance board, and the opportunity to apply to represent the council at national conferences, and the opportunity to apply to go on the Girl Scout "Destinations" trips. The people they can meet at the board meeting are the people that will be reviewing these applications down the road...
If your scout is available that evening, it could be a great opportunity!
Aleks
