Girl Scout Weekend: Additional Choices for June 8th

Happy last week of school!

What a fun meeting last week--we did some acting to get to know each other and the girl scout law and even connected it to our MEdia badgework, we made some games, made some ice cream, and made some bike safety trivia for this weekend!  And speaking of this weekend:

Since "Girl Scout Weekend" is approaching, and all the spots for scouts to help at the School's Out event on Friday were filled (WOW!), a girl scout gave me a great idea.  They had seen our scouts' presentation at the GMS Service Fair (Great job to the scouts that helped with that; your teachers were very very impressed!) and she thought we could do that at School's Out too.  So I rearranged the activity maps at School's Out so we could have a booth for our Silver Award, and added sign up slots for that.

Remember, all scouts helping at School's Out will get to take a break to go do the School's Out activities, (face painting, crafts, etc.) and also get dinner from the Lion's Club grill!

So if you're available, sign up here, and let's try to get some more community members to join us in making Greendale a healthier place to walk, live, and grow!

P.S.  I was thinking about what our Scouts have already done for their project, and the list is pretty great:

Met with the Greendale Health Department,
Met with the SAGE Greendale Health Workgroup
Designed a poster
Searched, and found maps of Greendale that have the walking paths on them
Posted the poster all over Greendale
Met with Mr. Weiss to arrange to present at the Service Fair
Made a display and presentation for the Service Fair
Presented to all the GMS 6th and 7th graders, and staff (!!) at the GMS Service Fair
Wrote a great thank you note to the Greendale Women's Club for their donation to the project.

Our girls are incredibly competent, brave, capable, and are becoming the kinds of young women to be proud of!  They really can do anything!
