Thanks for a great April meeting everyone! Today we worked on our Daisy value of sisterhood. We talked about, and drew pictures of how we can be good sisters to all the other girls, and shared our ideas with the group. The girls had some great ideas, and were so good at presenting them! We also made necklaces for each other--each girl made a piece for every other girl's necklace. The girls figured out that their necklaces were so long because they had so many friends!
I made a Daisy Scout word search for the girls. Some took them home, and some didn't. If your girl left hers behind, I put a copy up on the website here. You can just click the link on the left.
It looks like we’re coming up to the end of the school year, but we’ll keep on having Daisy fun all summer long.
A few other announcements:
Don't forget the College Park Brownie's meeting we were invited to tomorrow! If you didn’t RSVP, but still want to go, that’s ok. I talked to the leader and she’ll be ready if a few unexpected girls show up! (April 26th, 6:30-7:15)
Tiki and Emmi's Dad mentioned that he could schedule us a day to swim at the Village Club this summer. If there are dates that definitely DON'T work, let me know so we can schedule around that!
Backyard Camping. I thought it might be neat to do a backyard campout with the girls. We can set up tents in our yard, have campfires, sleep-out, and even hike through the nature center next door--all the while having a comfy, clean house (and bathrooms!) to retreat to if things got cold, scary, or too uncomfortable for any of the girls. I’m thinking of scheduling this around the Fairy Tea Party at the Botanical Garden on June 24th. That’ll give us something to do, and when we’re done with the fairies in the park, we can come back and roast marshmallows/s’mores and hit the tents. Let me know if that will work for you.
I haven’t heard back from the folks in charge of the Village 4th of July Parade about our girls getting a chance to march in it,but it definitely sounds like this is something we’ll be able to do. So if you can, keep that available!
There are a few events coming up in the near future to put on our schedules, but before getting to that: I really really REALLY want to hear from you about ideas and things to do over summer. I'd like to get the girls together for some fun outdoors stuff--put the "scout" in Girl Scout--so let me know your ideas!

These are fun evening walks through the parks with all sorts of activities and fun (and fairies!) I definitely recommend the fairy one, since the girls can dress up, meet other fairies, and really have a great time.
Milwaukee Family Kite Festival

Since 1988, The Family Kite Festival will be held in Veterans Park from 10 am until 6 pm on Saturday and 10 am until 5 pm on Sunday. The festival is free with plenty of free parking. The Grand Launch of 500 kites will take place at noon. Rhonda Begos will sing the National Anthem. This event will be shown live on the Internet! Kites and food will be sold at the festival.
