Girl Scouts: Can everyone bring a coffee mug to the meeting?

Hi!

Between everything else, to keep our theme of making our own treats going strong, we're thinking of making single-serving rice crispy treats in coffee mugs.

Can everyone try to send their scout to the meeting with a coffee mug?

It should be a good one--we have some work to do, but some fun too!

Girl Scouts: Two important notes!

Hi everyone!

Two quick important things I need from your scouts:

1)  Saturday, some of the girls spent a lot of time creating our activity for the Drug Resistance event this Wednesday.  They came up with categories of things we do in Girl Scouts, and got them added to a wheel for people to spin at the event.  They also started to put together answers for each category to explain how the things we did in each category could help them avoid using drugs.

For example, one category was "Sharing" and the girls explained that we shared our time with older people at the nursing home we visited, and this helped them avoid drugs by making them feel good about themselves naturally instead of needing drugs.

What we need is for the girls to add information for each category so that when they are meeting people at the Health Fair on Wednesday they have a "cheat sheet" to help them.  The chart is pretty simple, and the girls did the first item in each category as an example.

Please have your scout go to the doc and add more ideas for each category!  (Don't add any more categories, since the wheel is already filled!)

2)  For cookie sellers!  I need to get your prize/recognition choices submitted to Girl Scouts this week, so I need to know your choices by THURSDAY.  In case you don't have the sheet any more, here are the choices you have to make.  (Also, if you're not sure how many cookie boxes your scout sold, ask me!  I can look it up and tell you where you're at!)

Prize Choices:

@75 Boxes:  Elephant T-Shirt OR Donate $5 to Help the Herd OR $5 PAC
@125 Boxes:  Small Stuffed Elephant OR  Donate $5 to Help the Herd OR $5 PAC
@175 Boxes:  Beach Package (Sunglasses, towel, bag) OR Donate $10 to Help the Herd OR $10 PAC
@225 Boxes:  Sports Bottle + Journal OR Large Stuffed Elephant OR $15 PAC OR Two 1-Day Zoo Passes
@300 Boxes:  Kindle Fire Tablet OR 2 Tickets to Noah's Ark OR Duffle Bag + Hoodie OR $50 PAC
@500 Boxes:  Discovery World Family Pass OR Fire TV Stick OR One Six Flags Season Pass OR $75 PAC

Drug Resistance Fair Prep

Hi,

I just wanted to remind everyone about the girls prepping for the Girl Scout display/presentation at the Drug Resistance Event.  I saw the event mentioned in the GMS weekly email from Mr. Weiss!  It'll be a good opportunity for the girls to help the community!

I have the wheel from Girl Scouts, we'll have to:

1)  Come up with the categories of things we do in Girl Scouts (camping, learning, teaching, etc.)
2)  Get those categories on the wheel,
3)  Make "cheat sheets" so we have good answers for how scouts can prepare and help provide avenues of things to do that help avoid drugs,
4)  Make a backdrop with pictures and information about scouts in general and pictures of things our troop has done.

I'm anticipating 4:00-5:30 (guessing Evie is done with Solo and Ensemble by 4:00.)

Let me know if your scout can help get things ready!

If your scout wants to join in presenting at the Drug Resistance Event, sign up here:

And one other note:  I see a lot of great ideas on the Google Doc for Earth Day events!  Keep 'em coming, so we can all vote next week!

Girl Scouts: 3 Upcoming events! IMPORTANT

Hi everyone!

3 Important Girl Scout events are coming up, and I need some information from you!

1)  Opiate/Drug Resistance Fair Girl Scout Booth 3/28 (next Wednesday, after our meeting, at GHS)

You might remember our scouts were asked to provide a booth to represent Girl Scouts at the Drug Awareness/Resistance event at GHS next Wednesday.  After brainstorming with a few of the girls we decided we'd like to make a prize wheel with different categories on (serving, helping, learning, teaching, camping, etc.) and when people at the event spin the wheel, Girl Scouts there could tell them something we've done in that area and explain how that helps them avoid drugs. (For example, if a person spun the wheel and it landed on "serving" a Girl could talk about doing a beach clean up, and explain that it helped them fee good about helping the planet so they didn't need drugs to feel good.)

What we need before that:
A)  What girls can represent Girl Scouting at the event?  Sign up here:  http://www.signupgenius.com/go/10c0a4fa5ad22a13-drug

B)  To get together to plan our categories, make a background, and maybe even a "cheat sheet" of activities we've done for each category.  I would like to do Saturday Afternoon/Evening.  Whose scouts would be available from 4:00-5:30 Saturday 3/24?

2)  Earth Day

OK, I've made a Google doc for us to collect our Earth Day ideas.  Please add what you can, and if you don't have ideas, please read over what other girls are adding.  This weekend, I'll turn the ideas into a Google Form for voting, and we'll pick the one our troop does.

3)  Admirals Game/All Time Low Concert for Cookie Sellers.

OK cookie sellers!  Since our troop cookie sellers averaged 175 boxes per girl, we earned tickets for all the cookie sellers to go to the Admirals Game and see All Time Low (the band) after the game on April 14th.  I'm submitting the order tonight or tomorrow, so let me know now if your scout wants to go!  (Scout ticket is free, additional tickets $20.)

Thanks everyone!  And our next meeting is Wednesday too, so, expect a sign up for that to come out soon.

Girl Scout Cookie Sellers: Congratulations!

Hi everyone!

I just got news that the cookie sellers in our troop have averaged 175+ boxes of cookies per seller, so the cookie sellers get to go to the April 14th Admirals game, featuring a post-game concert by All Time Low!  (Hopefully the girls know who that is--apparently they're pretty famous?)

Every girl that sold cookies gets a ticket, and if there are family members that want to go with, extra tickets are $20 each.  Please let me know if you'll need extra tickets--I made a sign up page below.   I will be placing the ticket order as one big lump so that we get seated together.

Please let me know if your scout is attending, and if you need extra tickets before March 19th.  I would like to get our troop order in on the 20th.

Congratulations Girl Scouts, let's get ready to party!
cookie-celebration-sfmc

Your troop has done a great job selling Girl Scout Cookies, now it's time to celebrate! You are receiving this email because your troop's per-girl selling average was 175 or more, and you have earned one free ticket for each girl selling, plus two adult chaperone tickets, per troop, to the Girl Scouts' Admirals Dance Party!

Put on your dancing shoes, bring your family and friends, and join us on Saturday, April 14 as we rock the UW-Milwaukee Panther Arena. First we'll cheer on the Milwaukee Admirals as they take on the Iowa Wild at 6:00 p.m. for their last game of the season. Then following the game, you'll be treated to a free concert from the Admirals' featured artist All Time Low. If you have friends or family members who'd like to join you for this event, they can purchase tickets for $20 each, purchase these when you place your free ticket order to ensure grouped seating.

Girl Scouts: Cookie Stuff! (Important!)

Hi everyone!

If your scout didn't sell cookies, then don't worry about this email!

If your scout did sell, or is selling cookies, then keep reading!

First:  Cookie money due dates.  OK, Girl Scouts took the first chunk of cookie money that we owed them out of our account on Yesterday.  Because there were so many families that haven't turned in any of their money yet, we came dangerously close to being overdrawn!  (On the flip side:  THANK YOU!!  So much to the families that are fully paid already--you really saved our bacon!)

Please, turn in your cookie money.  The full amount is due March 9th (Friday!)

The only exception to the final due date is if you ordered extra cookies, and any money from those sales are due 1 week after you got the extra cookies.

Second:  Cookie booths.  The prizes this year are pretty good.  If your scout is pushing for more, there are some openings in the booth list.  At this time, there's no restriction on the number of booths a girl can sign up for, so feel free to go crazy!  And the great thing about selling cookies at a booth--they're already paid for, so you'll never find me tracking you down for money for cookies sold at a booth!

That's all for now!

Happy Cookies!

Girl Scouts: Additional cookie orders this week

Hi,

I'm getting ready to send this week's extra order in to scouts (so I can pick it up and get it to Bonnie's tomorrow).

I have remaining orders for Kahlen, Katie, Carrie, Portia, Teagan, and Adrhia.

Missing anyone?

Thanks!  Keep scouting!
