Girl Scouts: Last call for Old World Wisconsin, First Call for rescheduled Rennaissance Faire

Hi everyone,

Just two quick sign ups and a question:

1)  Old World Wisconsin happens next weekend!  Here's the sign up if you're interested in joining in:

2)  The Renaissance Faire Trip that was moved to August 27th is ready for signing up:

We'll meet up at our house at 9:00, with the goal of being at the Faire by 10:00.  We should be back around 6:00 that evening.
Please sign up ASAP, because I need to contact the group sales office to get our tickets discounted.
With the group discount our tickets will be:  Adults- $15.95  Children- $7.50

3)  Quick Question about the September Campout.  Our troop can pick up our giant box of T-Shirts and camp packet August 16th at 6:30.  However, I'll be out of town.  Is there someone who can stop by the Greenfield Library August 16th at 6:30 to pick up all our campout stuff?

Followup:  We have the option of joining in a pre-campout t-shirt tie-dying event on August 21st.  I'll STILL be out of town, BUT if someone can pick up the shirts on the 16th, would someone else, or that same person be willing and able to head up the troop at that event?  it'll be at the service area chairperson's backyard on 43rd and Grange-ish, and we can pick a time slot between  noon and 2:30 to have the troop come by and tie dye their shirts so they're all ready before camp.  We wouldn't need to provide any supplies or anything--just have the girls attending the campout show up and dye their appropriate shirts.  (See here for the attendance list. )

IF WE CAN'T do that event, I'll try to schedule something before the campout, but can't make any guarantees.

Thanks everyone!  Keep on scouting!

Girl Scouts: Upcoming Events, And Something for Our 6th Graders!

Hello everyone!

First:  Did anyone do the Beach Cleanup last Thursday?  As I mentioned, I couldn't be there, nor can I be at the August 11th one, BUT I want to make sure anyone that went gets their patch!  So let me know!

Second, we have a few things coming up:

August 6 Old World Wisconsin Sign Up and Details Here:  http://www.signupgenius.com/go/10c0a4fa5ad22a13-oldworld
August 11 Beach Clean Up Bay View Beach 6:30-8 Meet either on the beach after 6:30, or at the paved trail in the park above the beach before 6:30.  3120 S. Lake Drive
August 27 Renaissance Faire Trip (rescheduled) (Sign Up Coming Soon!)
September 8 Beach Clean Up Bay View Beach 6:30-8 Meet either on the beach after 6:30, or at the paved trail in the park above the beach before 6:30.  3120 S. Lake Drive

Third:

Since some of our scouts are becoming middle schoolers, and may want to hang out with the big kids, one of the middle school troops has offered to let our 6th grade scouts jump into their troop if they want.  You can contact Donna Celsor (she's been at a few of our meetings, and her daughter, Catherine has helped at a bunch for the last few years) at donna.celsor@gmail.com .  At those grades too, the girls get to start taking a LOT more control over the meetings and the direction the troop goes.  She's having a meeting about the role of the girls and helping them get a feel for really leading the troop on their own on August 10 from 6:30-8pm at St Thomas of Canterbury Church.

Thanks everyone--what a summer!  Stay cool!

Girl Scouts: What a parade! And some (important) updates!

Hello everyone!

Just a couple quick updates and a schedule change for the summer.

First:  What a parade!  the weather was just right.  If anyone didn't get their 4th of July patch from me, let me know--I have some extras!

Second:  Our next beach cleanup is coming up soon:

July 14, Bay View Beach 6:30-8 Meet either on the beach after 6:30, or at the paved trail in the park above the beach before 6:30.  3120 S. Lake Drive

Kathleen, Evie, and I can't be there, so if you go, let me know and I'll get your community service patch to you!

Third:  Scout day at the Renaissance Faire!  Also a long time favorite.

***SCHEDULE CHANGE!  WE WILL NOT BE DOING THIS JULY 17TH, THE NEW DATE IS AUGUST 27TH!***

Meet at our house at 9:00, with the goal of being at the Faire by 10:00.  We will plan to be back at our house for pick up at 6:00PM. I'll get more info out as the date gets closer.

Fourth:  September Green Corners Camp Out!  Technically this one's during the school year, but I have to get folks registered NOW.  The Campout is July 9th through the 11th, and here's how registration would work--you can sign up for one of three choices:
1)  Go up Friday 9/9 after school, and stay overnight and go home at 5:00 Saturday 9/10 Night (Get back to Milwaukee around 6:00)
2)  Go up Saturday 9/10 morning, and go home at 5:00 Saturday Night (Get back to Milwaukee around 6:00)
3)  Go up Saturday 9/10 morning, and stay overnight and go home at 11:00 Sunday 9/11 morning (Get back to Milwaukee around noon.)  I will make a sign up genius for this ASAP.  Things are a little busy right now, but expect it Monday-ish.  Until then, really think about which option you prefer.

I can still fit some scouts in, if they want to go.  However, I did have to get the t-shirt order form in already, so anyone who wants to go but has't signed up yet, will get a Youth Large size T-shirt. Sign up here:  http://www.signupgenius.com/go/10c0a4fa5ad22a13-september3

Fifth: Old World Wisconsin.  I promised some of the girls we'd get another trip to Old World Wisconsin in this summer so they can visit some of the other locations (and apparently their favorite location--the gift shop!) Let's lock that August 6th date in the calendars.  Sign up here if you plan on going.  As always, if the cost would stop your scout from going, let me know and the troop can cover the price.  No questions asked. (Also, because it's during the Little House on the Prairie event, you can get 20% off by dressing as a little house character!)

That's all for now!  Thanks and see you soon!

Girl Scouts: Thanks! Got a wagon!

A big thanks to Kayla, Makenzie's mom!  We're all set with out refill wagon for Monday.

See you there!

Aleks

Girl Scouts: Anyone have an extra wagon for the parade on Monday?

Hi everyone!

Wow!  it's going to be a girl-scout-tastic parade on Monday!

By any chance can anyone bring a wagon for our "refill candy" to the parade on Monday?  I'll have one wagon full, but that ALWAYS runs out halfway through the parade.  I have a bunch of candy for refills, so if someone else has a spare wagon for that candy, that would be awesome.

Thanks!

Aleks
