Girl Scouts: MATC Career Camps -ASAP - 6th -10th Graders

Hi everyone!

I just got this from our council today, and even though Evie can't go, these sound like super cool opportunities for the girls.

MATC is offering two free "Career Camps"  One is for kids interested in making stuff and one is for kids interested in cooking stuff.  Please read the attached flyer and email explore@matc.edu for more information.  The programs are for any scouts entering 6th grade-10th grade this fall, and it sounds like they're completely free!

Unfortunately, I can't provide rides for these though, since we'll be out of town.  So transportation is up to you.

Girl Scouts: Any adults for tomorrow?

Hi again!

There are two girls who could go tomorrow, but would need a ride to the zoo.  Especially with Evie away at camp, I really need another adult to carpool to the zoo with us.

By any chance is there an adult available from 1-3 tomorrow to help out at the zoo?  I'll get a patch for you too!

Girl Scouts: Zoo Volunteering--LAST CALL, can anyone go?

Hi everyone,

It's looking pretty slim for Tuesday's volunteering at the zoo (1:00-3:00, followed by hanging out at the zoo).

Can anyone go?

Girl Scouts: Volunteer opportunity at the zoo!

Hi everyone!

I just got this from one of our troop parents (Quinn's mom--thanks!) and it would be a lot of fun for our girls!

Here's what she wrote:

-----------------------------------------------------------
"I am in need of some volunteers here at the Zoological Society to help prepare Zoo gate brochures.  It is a fairly simple task, so I thought it might be a good opportunity for the girls. I would be willing to extend the invitation to the girls' older family members too, as I have pallets and pallets of brochures to prep and need lots of willing and capable volunteers.  Plus, if we could get a group of at least 10 volunteers for a minimum of 2 hours that day, I can get the families into the Zoo. "
------------------------------------------------------------

So, we decided that a good day would be next TUESDAY JULY 10TH FROM 1-3:00 PM.  Who would be interested in helping the zoo?  If we can get 10 volunteers (scouts and older family members) then all the helpers can hang out at the zoo afterwards too! I'd be happy to carpool.  Unfortunately, Evie is at Girl Scout camp that week, and Kathleen is working, so if I'm going to shuttle extra scouts, we'd need another grown up to join us in the vanpool too.

Let me know if anyone's available--I hope we can get 10!!

Girl Scouts: September Camp Out Sign Up

Hi,

Here's the sign up for the September campout!

For those of you who haven't done it before, the camp out is in cabins not tents, so it's not too scary!  We'll be in a cluster of small Adirondack cabins surrounding a main activity cabin, so the girls get to be a step closer to real camping than we've done in the past.  It'll be a great opportunity to be brave, and a wonderful experience for the girls!

The campout runs from Friday night through Sunday morning, and girls can choose to:

1)  Stay over 1 night ,

2) Stay over 2 nights,

3) Stay over no nights, but arrive by 9:00 Saturday Morning and Leave Saturday Night

Plan of action for the camp:

Friday: Arrive in the evening, hike around the lake, eat dinner, roast marshmallows, watch a movie, go to sleep.

Saturday:  Camp activities (archery, crafts, games, etc.) followed by roasting marshmallows, nighttime movie, and sleep.

Sunday:  Eat breakfast (maybe a campfire breakfast!), bonus archery or whichever activity the girls want to do, head home.

Sign up here:

See you soon!

I'll send a sign up page link out in a moment too, but I need those t-shirt sizes right away!

Girl Scouts: Reminder-bike saftey/bike decorating at the Health Department TOMORROW

Hi everyone,

4-6PM, at the Health Department in Greendale.  I'll bring the Bike Safety materials the girls made/found.  They'll be there and help kids decorate bikes and do safety trivia and coloring with kids while they wait to get their helmets fitted.

Also, here's the link to the sign up for (almost) all the rest of the summer Girl Scout Stuff:
