Hi everyone,

It is cookie time again!  Without our regular school meetings, it feels like we've been slow, but there are still reasons to join in the cookie sale this year.  Obviously it still helps pay for things like tubing, and the campout, but also if our plan is still to look forward to another significant trip when the girls are Juniors/Seniors now is the time to start saving money!

Here are the important dates:

Right now:  Girl Scouts should have sent each family a link to create their online selling account--make sure you get that set up right away.  With COVID, online selling will be more important than ever.  Plus scouts has even incentivized shipping rates for delivered cookie orders greater than 6 boxes which will make it more alluring for people to use the online option. (1/2 price shipping on >6 box orders, which is nice!)

Also right now:  If you send me an address, I'll make rounds and drop off cookie selling materials (order card, information sheet, etc.) this weekend so you're ready to roll on Monday.

February 1st:  Can start taking cookie orders

February 14th:  I need to have your initial order numbers so I can have them entered by the 2/15 deadline.  (You can keep taking orders, but they won't be available until 2/26, a couple days later than the initials.)

February 23-24th: I'll have the cookies to fill your initial orders, and they can be picked up at my house.

February 26th:  We can start setting up our own cookie booths for scouts and families that feel comfortable to do so.  (Not required!)

March 14th:  Cookie money is due for cookies sold to this point.

March 22nd:  Reward choices deadline.

March 28th:  Any remaining cookie money is due.

April 16-17th:  Rewards pick up.

Sooooooo, for the moment, let me know where to drop off selling materials, and I'll get those out to you, and check your emails for the link to set up each girl's online account.

Happy scouting,

Aleks

Hi everyone,

I'm just sending a quick test email to make sure I have all the appropriate addresses right.  If you want any email addresses added to the list, let me know!

See you tonight!

Girl Scouts: Tubing Monday!

Hi everyone!

I think all the girls are signed up.

I need a couple things now:

1). Fill in the waiver for tubing here:

Store - The Rock SnowPark

Store - The Rock SnowPark

2). Let me know travel arrangements.  I should not fill the van up during COVID, so I'll need most everyone to drop girls off at The Rock and pick them up afterwards. If one or two absolutely can't get there, we can spread out in the van as best we can, and stay mashed up.

Plan is still to meet at The Rock around 5:45 and tube from 6-8!

See you Monday!

Aleks

Hi everyone!

Let's shoot for Monday 1/18.  You can either meet at our house at 5:30, or at the Rock at 5:45.  We'll plan to tube from 6:00-8:00.

I'll need a firm headcount ASAP so I can preorder tickets, and I'll send you the link to the waiver.

Katie had a great idea about a possible ice skating time too.  Will anyone volunteer to check out the various skating rinks around and see what's open?

Wilson Park
Pettit
Eble

Any others?

And maybe can someone else check any rules on ice-skating on the county park "lakes" to see if that's a better option?

Thanks and see you 1/18!

Girl Scouts: Online Science Event Tonight

This might be fun!  It's a meet up with women in STEM fields hosted by a robotics team out East. (Not ours!) I THINK the time zone is EST so it would start an hour earlier for us.

I think it's 6:30 EST so that would be 5:30 CST.
