Girl Scouts: Camp Info! (Sept. 7-8-9)

Hi everyone!

I can't believe that school's starting so soon!  This is bananas!

Here's info on camp for the girls going on Sept 7-8-9.  

#1)  ARRIVAL

FRIDAY:  I can bring a group of girls up right after school on Friday.  I'll have room for up to 5 (plus Evie).  Also, Liliana K.'s mom will be driving out from Greendale between 6:00-6:30 and will have room for some scouts if needed.  Please contact me to let me know how your scout will be getting to camp.  If you're not riding with me, then plan to drop your stuff off at the Look Out Peak Main Lodge which is past Jo Ann Mann, and just past the games field (continue a short ways on the gravel road) as you travel into Silverbrook.  (Map attached; you enter on the upper right, and Lookout Peak is on the lower right.)

SATURDAY:  If your scout is coming up Saturday Morning, please be at camp by 9:00.  We'll either be out at the Games Field getting ready for camp to start or in Jo Ann Man Lodge wrapping up after breakfast.

#2)  What are we doing, and homework!

FRIDAY:  We'll have some fun!  

First, We'll do some outdoor cooking,

Second, we'll tie our t-shirts so they're ready to tie-dye on Saturday

Third, we'll make some sand art to tie in with the "Under the Sea" theme.  

Finally, we'll wrap up with a movie, a nightime hike around the lake, and getting to bed!

6:00 + Troop Time (Sand Art, Hike, S'Mores, Outdoor Cooking Dessert?, Hanging Out, Movie, Bed)

SUNDAY:

Clean Up

Girls' Choice (Archery? Other Activities?)

Go Home

HOMEWORK:

If your scout will be present either evening, please have her come up with one idea for an outdoor cooking activity we could do.  Please send me the idea BEFORE WEDNESDAY so I have time to make sure we have the supplies for it.  

#3)  DEPARTURE

In terms of getting home, I can give scouts a ride home LATE LATE on Saturday, Liliana K's mom can provide a ride for some scouts Saturday afternoon, or Kathleen and I will have some vehicle space available on Sunday afternoon as well.  If your scout needs a ride back to Greendale, please let me know so I can make sure there's enough space for everyone.

If you are planning to pick your scout up from camp, please let me know that too, so we can do our best to be ready for you.

ALSO:  If it looks like it could be rainy, a poncho (even the disposable kind), an extra change of clothes and shoes would probably be appreciated by the girls.

Also, the troop did pay for the campout (as usual!) for all the registered girls.  If you had registered, but cancel, we'll try to find someone to fill that place, but  if we can't, we'll need you to cover that cost. (But you'll get to keep the t-shirt and patch.)

Girl Scouts: Ren Faire, and September Campout

Hi everyone!

Just a couple quick notes:

1)  Rennissance Faire trip SATURDAY 8/25.  If you're going to that, I'd like to meet up at our house at 9:00, so we can get there around opening at 10:00.  We can arrange carpools etc then too, since there's a charge for parking.  If your scout is going, plan to bring some money for food (lunch at least) and I'm sure the girls will want to do some shopping.

I am expecting:  Ellen, Adrhia, Eva K., Eva M., Yvette M., Evie, Kathleen, and Aleks.  Anyone else?

2)  September Campout:  It's coming up.  If you sent me a t-shirt size at the beginning of summer, then I have a t-shirt for your scout (or will after I pick them up today.)  BUT, even if you didn't get in before the t-shirt deadline, if you want to join in the fun, there's space available for you!  Sign up here to let me know when to expect you, etc. (There is a SLIM chance that the service area ordered more shirts.  If they did, I'll grab what I can!)

Girl Scouts: Old World Wisconsin and Cool Waters SATURDAY

Hi everyone!

BIG BIG Scout Saturday coming up.  Here are the details for those who signed up for Old World Wisconsin and Cool Waters this Saturday.

Old World Wisconsin

Meet at our house at 9:00AM

Bring:  Water Bottle (filled), Lunch, Drawstring Backpack, Spending Money (if you want), Bug Spray, Sunblock 

We plan on being back at our house at 5:00

Cool Waters

Arrive at Cool Waters in Greenfield Park at 6:45-6:50.  We'll meet up on the grassy area by the front door.

IF ANY SCOUTS NEED RIDES, MEET AT OUR HOUSE AT 6:10.

Bring:  Swimgear, Sunscreen, Towels, Money for the concessions booth

Optional:  They'll also have a collection drive for school supplies, so if you can bring some school supplies to donate, that'd be pretty cool too.
