Hello Campers,
4 Important things for you; a packing list, camp rules, ride lists, and directions to Silverbrook.
1) Packing list:
!!EMERGENCY CONTACT INFORMATION!!
Sunscreen
Bug spray
Change of clothes
Long pants/sweatshirt if it turns cold
Comfortable walking shoes
Something to tie your scout's hair back at the fire, if she has long hair
Rain/mud boots if it looks like the trails will be muddy
The pre-tied Tie-Dye t-shirt if I sent it home with you. (If I have it, I'll bring it!)
A swimsuit/goggles/swimwear
Towel for after swimming
Snack for during the day
Light/small backpack (a drawstring bag is just about right.)
A water bottle (filled, because the water at camp tastes camp-ish)
In addition, for sleep-over scouts:
Bedding/pillows/sleeping gear (there are mats to lay on the floor of the cabin, but that's it!),
Toothbrush/toothpaste,
Hairbrush,
any other toiletries.
2) Camp Rules
Please read these through with your scout before coming to camp!
1) All campers MUST wear enclosed shoes and socks at all times. Flip flops are ONLY allowed at the beach.
2) Long hair must be tied back during campfires.
3) All campers must have all feet on the ground around the fire.
4) No running at camp except at the games field.
5) Respect all volunteers. They've committed their time to making the campout great!
6) No walking through another troop's cabin unless it's absolutely necessary to use the restroom.
7) We leave camp better than we found it. This includes our cabins as well as the natural areas.
8) Quiet time is 10:00 PM
3) Directions
Directions to camp Silverbrook for those driving up.
2561 W Decorah Rd, West Bend, WI 53095
Take Hwy 41/45 North
Follow Hwy 45 North at the 41/45 split
Exit Paradise Dr. (4th exit from the split) and turn LEFT
Go past Walmart/Mcdonalds
At STOP LIGHT, Turn RIGHT onto 18th Ave. (cemetery)
Turn LEFT onto Decorah Rd.
Follow Decorah Rd. to camp. Turn LEFT into camp.
4) Rides List
OK, here's the cars going to camp, and who I'm expecting to stick around. If I've got something wrong, let me know! Also, there are a lot of separate cars going up Saturday morning. If you were going to drive your scout up, but weren't planning to stick around during the day, we could probably give you 3 hours of your life back if your able to let your scout ride up with someone else. (It's a 45 minute drive each way to Silverbrook, so driving 1.5 hours to drop your scout off, then another 1.5 hours of total travel to pick her up might be a bit boring!)
