I will make some of the supplies lists. If I was going to make the supplies lists, how many activities should I make lists for? Thanks,EllenOn Mon, Jul 13, 2020 at 8:55 PM Aleks Skibicki <kwaterk1978@yahoo.com> wrote:Hi everyone,What a great meeting today. The girls definitely had a lot of good ideas, and we're on track to putting something fun together. The basic idea where things ended up is to have an open "Equality and Fairness Art Party" where we provide materials for members of the community to do various art projects focusing on spreading a positive message about equality and fairness in our community. The girls wanted to include a focus on a broad range of minority and traditionally underrepresented groups, including Black, LGBTQ+, Latino/Latina, and all other underrepresented groups.Art projects the girls wanted to include:Lawn sign making,Rock painting,COVID mask decorating,Coloring pages,Sidewalk chalking, andBumper sticker/magnet making. The jobs they need to do to accomplish this are:JOB 1) Find a venue. Park pavillion? In front of the library? Parking lot behind the library? Who do we get permission from?JOB 2) Determine how to organize in such a way that it is COVID and socially distancing safe. Questions to answer: Is this even possible to do safely? Do people have to register for a time slot or project? How do we keep people separated? How many people can be doing art at any time? Places to look for answers: Greendale Health Department, Online CDC or WI State guidelines.JOB 3) Promote the event. Once a date is picked, and a venue, find ways to promote the event. Options: Online through groups like the library, Greendale School District, and/or PAGE. In person with fliers in Greendale.JOB 4-9) Make supply lists for each art project. (4 = Lawn signs, 5 = Rock painting, 6 = Mask decorating, 7 = Coloring pages, 8 = Sidewalk chalking, 9 = Bumper sticker/magnet making.)JOB 10) Create a list of positive messages, quotes, images, ideas, and inspirations, that people can use on the art the create.JOB 11) Get all supplies and materials to the event venue and have people there to supervise it.NOTE 1) If the answer to the questions in JOB 2 are: "No. This cannot be done safely in a COVID environment," then the girls are interested in looking into ways to share it with the community without having an actual event. For example, having just scouts do art but distributing their creations through the community.ASSIGNMENT TIME:Girls: Please take (at least) one job to try to accomplish, and email your choice to the whole list to make sure that no one is doubling up on jobs. I did not BCC the email this time, so you can reply-all and everyone will get it. Please read all emails before picking a job (or more) to make sure you're not picking a job that someone else is already working on.This sounds like a lot of fun! Lets see what the girls can do!Aleks Skibicki
